Which neighborhood student from McGill leaves:
McGill students live in four different neighborhoods. Milton Park, commonly known as McGill Ghetto, is the most popular for off-campus housing in the student community.
Plateau-Mont-Royal is also one of the top choices, it’s a little bit farther tho, but the life in this neighborhood is really awesome. There’s a lot of different cultures and there’s a majority of French speakers in the area. It’s more like a little community.
Downtown Montreal is where the rest of McGill students choose to live. The advantage of living there is that everything is within walking distance. You experience the life of living in the heart of a city. It’s a little bit noisier because all the action is there.
The only downside to living near McGill university is that the rent price is a bit higher than anywhere in Montreal, but if your monthly budget allows it, it’s completely worth it.
