Going to Université du Québec à Montréal with a car is quite a difficult task if you don’t have a parking ticket, but it’s not impossible. There’s some paying parking directly on the street.

It really depends on you and what you’re looking for. There’s not really a special neighborhood for UQÀM students, because the campus location is so at a strategic spot that most of Montreal’s neighborhood will take you less than 30 minutes to reach the campus by public transportation.
If you wish to be more in the heart of the city, the best is in Dowtown, it will take you less than 10 minutes to reach UQÀM.
If you wish to live the student life with other students while having a lot of neighboring restaurants and shops, go for Plateau-Mont-Royal.
If you’re looking more budget-friendly option, I will advise you to look a little bit farther than the Université du Québec à Montréal campus and you will save hundreds of dollars per month. Because of the awesome city transportation, is quite easy to move from the city to a different location.
